team event on bakio beach yesterday with both competition sites offering some heavy sets but the biggest being on site A (at the east end of the strand). no broken boats or people yet thankfully and some impressive surfing. ni are still in the mix for finals qualification but a good deal rests on round 2. this started with a pre-sunrise call to go to mundaka where the first 7 heats ran on small surf before the event was moved back to bakio only to be postponed a few hours later due to a lack of swell and too high a tide. next call at 8am tomorrow in bakio will keep you posted.
